Asia Citro loved school so much that she stuck around through 18th grade to get her Master's in Science Education.  After years of teaching science to kids both as a classroom teacher and as an environmental education camp director, she decided to stay home full-time after the birth of her daughter.

When her son was born, she got a little stir-crazy and with the encouragement of friends created a blog called Fun at Home with Kids. From there Asia discovered that she loved writing and creating so much that she just went ahead and wrote twelve books.  Between you and me, I don't think she's going to stop any time soon.

Her work has been featured on Apartment Therapy, The Chicago Tribune, Today, Disney Baby, MSN, King 5 TV, New Day NorthwestHighlights, A Mighty Girl, and more.  It has even been shared by celebrities such as George Takei and Ashton Kutcher (which was really cool).  The first book in her chapter book series Zoey and Sassafras was selected by both the New York Public Library and A Mighty Girl as one of their Best Books for Kids in 2017, and it was a finalist for Illinois' Monarch Award, Washington's OTTER Award, North Dakota’s Flicker Tale Award, and Florida's SSYRA Award. In 2018, it was named the winner of the Washington State Book for Young Readers Award. It is currently a 2019 New York Public Library summer read, and a current nominee for the Oregon State Beverly Cleary Children’s Choice Award and Michigan’s Great Lakes Great Books Award.  Her books have received positive reviews from Publishers Weekly, School Library Journal, and Booklist, and she is the recipient of a Kirkus star.

Asia lives near Seattle with her two adorable and nutty kids, her patient husband, two messy cats, a cute parakeet, and a terrarium full of friendly bugs.

Her books can be found anywhere books are sold worldwide.
